SHA is a trusted provider of Occupational Therapy services to local authorities, healthcare providers, housing associations and private clients across the UK.

Our service covers equipment recommendations, moving and handing risk assessments, home adaptations and double handed care reviews. With a proven track record supporting over 30 local authorities across social care, health and housing, we tailor our services to meet your needs.

We specialise in waiting list reduction, delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions. We can call on a large bank of qualified Associates at short notice and embed a team which will integrate seamlessly with clients’ existing services to reduce backlogs in timescales appropriate to client needs.

Since 2001, SHA has been a leading expert in eligibility assessments for Blue Badges, Concessionary Bus Passes, Taxicards and Parking Bays.

We offer flexible, tailor-made solutions to local authorities and partner organisations ranging from fully managed, end-to-end services to the provision of trained and experienced Expert Assessors for one-off assessments.

SHA provides specialist travel risk assessments for children with special educational needs (SEN) and adults with care and support needs. Our experienced team of assessors delivers clear, person-centred reports that help local authorities plan safe and appropriate transport arrangements.

Since 2020, we’ve completed over 7,500 assessments for Camden Council alone, demonstrating our ability to deliver at scale while maintaining quality and compliance.

We offer flexible support to manage both new referrals and ongoing reviews, helping you keep up with demand and meet the standards set out in the SEN Transport in London Practitioners Guide (2020). Whether you need short-term capacity or a long-term partner, our responsive service ensures timely, high-quality assessments tailored to your requirements.

SHA provides highly specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) services for individuals funded through Continuing Healthcare (CHC). Our expert OTs work with some of the most complex cases, delivering in-depth assessments and tailored interventions focused on moving and handling, specialist equipment, and complex care planning.

We understand the challenges of supporting clients with significant physical, cognitive, or neurological needs. Our team brings advanced clinical expertise to ensure safe care environments, reduce risk, and promote client dignity and independence.

SHA has extensive experience in double handed care reviews (assessments that explore whether care currently delivered by two carers can be safely reduced to one through the use of specialist equipment, environmental adaptations, or reablement support). This approach promotes independence, maximises the individual’s abilities and delivers cost-efficient care without compromising safety or quality.

We have carried out these reviews for a range of local authorities including the London Borough of Hackney, Waltham Forest, Thurrock Council, Hertfordshire and Surrey councils. We continue to provide these services through our ongoing partnership with Surrey Heartlands CCG, delivering comprehensive assessments and interventions as part of routine care.

SHA delivers audit services that drive measurable improvements in health and social care systems.

In Cambridgeshire, we carried out a full audit of the council’s integrated Occupational Therapy service. Our review produced actionable recommendations that enhanced outcomes, supported service innovation and improved shared financial planning across adult social care and health partners.

We are highly experienced in the management and analysis of systems. We can undertake and manage bespoke projects.

We worked with Barts Health NHS Trust and King’s College Hospital to review and redesign their patient transport eligibility services, resulting in significant cost savings and improved operational efficiency. This involved extensive stakeholder engagement across hospital and transport teams to ensure alignment and sustainable change.

Our skilled team can deliver tailored training programmes in OT-related practice areas, designed to meet the specific needs of your service. From Hidden Disabilities training for concessionary travel teams to hospital transport eligibility training, we provide practical, up-to-date sessions that support confident, consistent frontline decision-making. All training is delivered by experienced professionals and aligned with current legislation and best practice.

At SHA, we’re committed to supporting ongoing professional development for Occupational Therapists and Allied Healthcare Professionals. We offer free CPD sessions delivered both in person and remotely via Zoom, making our training accessible to professionals across the UK and beyond.

Our sessions cover a wide range of relevant clinical topics and often feature collaborations with providers of innovative equipment and solutions. Follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn to stay updated on upcoming events and opportunities to learn and connect.
